As surveillance and censorship increase, the insecurity of digitally stored and/or digitally transmitted information is a major problem for HRDs in many countries. Front Line Defenders created its Digital Protection Programme in 2004 to meet the needs of HRDs facing such threats. SLEITI MSG Reviews EITI Pre-Validation Workshop

The Sierra Leone Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative has held a one day Pre-Validation Workshop to review the EITI Validation templates on the Transparency of Stakeholders Engagement on the Outcomes and Impact ahead of the commencement of Sierra Leone’s valuation scheduled to start on the 1 April 2022.  The Human Right Defenders Network Sierra Leone as a member of the MSG was in attendance during the pre-validation exercise.  And as a network we would like to call on all the membership of the network to participate and fully disseminate the EITI activity in the country.

HRDN-SL Participate in SLEITI Validation Retreat

The Executive Secretary of the Human Right Defenders Network Sierra Leone has attended a two-day familiarization retreat organized by The Sierra Leone Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative in Bo District, Southern Province. The purpose of the retreat was to familiarize MSGs with the new validation model and templates, establish a dedicated SLEITI MSG sub-committee on validation and update progress made in addressing validation corrective action. To better support relevant, sustainable and impactful EITI implementation, the EITI Board has introduced a new validation model.
